INTJ in first two seasons. After that acting more like ENTP

Guys did you ever think maybe the writers didn't try to perfectly present the cognitive functions? He seems to use Ne and Ni. He's inconsistently written. This is the kind of character you might be better off typing by just looking at the four letters. Based off this, he acts like a perceiver, either ENTP or INTP

INTJ

I would go with him being an INTP because he seems to use Ti, but he definitely has Ni. I would type him as an unhealthy INFJ ( for the TI)if it wasn't for the fact that he seems to have absolutely no Fe, but maybe he just has really underdeveloped Fe. I would have to watch a few episodes.

He's prospecting.
The way he improvises his treatment and almost always deviates from the initial plan

If you compare INTJs Ni interrelating inspection and Te external rationalization with House. There's something really wrong. House is open, outspoken, sarcastic, not attached and not organised, he obviously prefers to be intellectually agressive instead of being controling and neurotic.

He doesn't have the natural nihilistic character of Ni-Fi. Instead he normally leads with people and approach them. And, of course the constant debate and mental sparring of ENTPs that he constantly spams in the whole serie.

NTJs often gets many points and make it one, while NTPs get all those frameworks and only use the one it needs in that moment. When mental sparring and leading with information, he precises a single nugget instead of 'avalanching' all the information.

@November

House isn't attached because he allows himself to not interact with his patient. Once I get intrigued by something I can act exactly like House and lead a SMALL team. Even though ENTPs are known for debating they are NOT the only type that likes debating. He hates organizations once they get in a way or if they make no logical sense. Once excited he bounces around every idea but then disregards them if they don't match the symptoms but is hell bent if he think is right with all the confidence in the world just on a hunch. As an INTJ myself I can relate to almost everything he does from stubbornness, rationalism and heartbrake. I see Ne Ti as his shadow functions then his normal functions.

On a side note it's a bad idea to find someone's personality using cognition as there is no proof of cognition for a selected personality type

And it's people like you that mess up the voting on these things. "I can act exactly like House" is not something you use to type someone. If that were the case, I'd be saying he's an ISTP. I act like him too. I shut people and emotions out. I'm cold and logical. I love debating things. He was INTJ in the first few episodes or so, but has ended up being ENTP. That happens sometimes with characters because the writers decide they want then to be different.

I keep seeing you on profiles and I agree with everything you're saying.

Obviously an INTJ. Self confident in his answers but is still willing to change his ideas, likes to use sarcasm in inappropriate situations, not liked on first meeting but once people know him he is very respected . Uses Ni as he likes to think while watching TV or playing the piano alone. Uses Te in his work for logical thinking and makes his theories fit in with facts not facts then theory. Fi cares very deeply but repress showing emotion. Se likes to be around beautiful places (like outside the hospital) and finds hints or clues on patients that others can't

House is outspoken, opinionated, argumentative, and confident. ENTP.

Us P voters should get together and decide if he's an E or I and then maybe we can sway the popular opinion.

@Kicking Lettuce

E. He keeps his feelings to himself, but I don't think that's introversion. I think it's just because of his dad and how many times people have broken his trust.

INTP

@scifigrl

I could go E just as easily. He doesn't really hold anything back.

He is obviously an XNTP. He creates theories about diseases, starting from a bunch of symptoms, sometimes being wrong. An INTJ, instead, needs to be completely sure about something to express himself. That is typical of Ne. He's an absolute brainstormer and resercher. He tries anything until he gets to the solution. His Ne is astounding, anyway, first of all, there is logic (Ti).

He is more likely P to me not J
Remember
He hates organization rules disciplines and frames

INTJ

@Behzad Ashraf Ganjooee

Yes he hates order without reason. He still is methodical and organised in his approach. He creates a list of symptoms and them derives from them whilst keeping his team organised. Disliking an imposed framework is one of the most iconic parts of an INTJ.

INTJ

He seems to use Ni. Looks like an INTJ to me.

Are you sure about this?
